Job Bulletins and Online Job Boards (for job-seekers)

Job Bulletins for the week starting March 27, 2017

If you want to jump right to the action and see jobs that are newly listed today (if it’s a weekday and also not a statutory holiday) – go to the fresh sheet – which shows you all the jobs that are closing by the Wednesday of the following week (April 5, 2017) and is typically updated twice a week (usually Tuesday and Thursday but this depends on what else I have on my agenda during the week). Otherwise keep reading.

Jobs that I’ve pulled from job boards in the past are grouped onto one of two documents. The first document is those jobs that are closing by the end of the current month. The second document is those jobs that are closing next month or have no closing date specified or are open until filled (what I call ‘OUF’).

If you are curious about where I find the jobs I list on YYJWorks – here are all the details on Job Boards and their quirks. Note that a good resource with a lot of jobs that I do not visit to gather jobs for my postings is the federal government JobBank – this link will take you to jobs on Vancouver Island and from there use the pulldown list to select Victoria. And if you’d like to see the source of the documents below here are the Job Boards that I scan to create these bulletins.

Job Boards

Here are the boards I use to create the fresh sheet two to three times per week. You may notice that I have not included such sites as craigslist, Monster.ca or Workopolis – I just feel that these are (in the case of the first) not that reputable in terms of content or simply repeat jobs that are already listed elsewhere (in the case of the last two). I have also included a new feature – if there is an asterisk after the company/organization name (i.e. Kelly Services*) that means the site has a job alerting service you can sign up for (to deliver new jobs to your email or RSS reader).

  • Search for jobs with Amica Mature Lifestyles (select British Columbia – Capitol Region & Island in the ‘Canada Locations:’ box)
  • Click on the ‘Location:’ box’s dropdown list – if Victoria, BC is listed there then there are jobs at Princess Auto available in Victoria
